From wannabe spies to holiday makers, this list tops the ten best wearable cameras in the UK market.
The Internet of Wearables (IoW) is taking over the British summer with a wide range of options to capture the best moments of the holiday season.
CBR lists the top ten cameras available in the UK.
1. TomTom Bandit
Cost: 299.99
TomTom has in the consumer market one of the most potent wearable cameras. The Bandit action camera allows to record videos of 1080p at both normal and slow motion speeds.
It is a 16 MP device with a cinematic display of 4K. The Bandit offers three different types of connection including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB.
The camera itself is only splash proof, but an optional waterproof lens cover gives it the ability to dive up to 50 meters below the surface.
With a battery life of up to three hours using its highest resolution feature, the gadget also allows users to edit and share their videos instantly with the Bandit App compatible with iOS and Android.
2. GoPro Hero4 Session
Cost: £329.99
GoPro has long been one of the key players in the wearable camera space, and its latest release, the Hero4 Session, keeps up with the demand.
The company claims the cubic camera to be 50% smaller than its predecessors, offering a battery life of up to two hours in HD 1080p mode.
Weighting 74g, the device records a continuous video loop that overwrites itself until the user presses the shutter button to stop it and save.
Files are stored into a microSD memory card of up 64GB. GoPro has also included a feature that allows the gadget to automatically capture a series of photos at timed intervals, allowing pictures to be taken when the camera is out of reach.
3. Autographer Intelligent Wearable Camera
Cost: £285
A clip on camera that Autographer claims to be the world's first intelligent camera. The 58g device has 8GB of internal memory, GPS, Bluetooth and a 5MPx low light sensor..
The five million pixel device includes a 3mm focal lens that allows pictures and recording to be done with a viewing angle of 136 degrees.
The gadget is dubbed as intelligent as it has five sensors built in that detect changes in light, motion, colour and temperature. It still includes a magnetometer that automatically detects which direction the camera is point at.
The camera's intelligent software, OMG Life Autographer, uses real time analytics to determine the best time to take a picture based on the data extracted from the aforementioned sensors.
4. Drift Ghost-S
Cost: £190
Drift's camera comes included of a two inches LCD screen, 300 degrees continuously rotatable lens and a video resolution of up to 1080p with the ability to shoot up to 60 frames per second.
The device's battery life lasts for 3.5 hours due to a built in 1700 mAh researchable battery.
Waterproof up to three meters (and freeze proof to -10 degrees), the Ghost-S also allows to time lapsed photography.
With 12MP, the 171g camera has built-in Wi-Fi that works with iPhone or Android phone.
5. iON Air Pro 3 Wi-Fi
Cost: £299.99
iON has developed several wearable cameras that are currently available in the UK market. The company claims the Air Pro 3 Wi-Fi is a waterproof HD video camera that does not need a case to keep water away up to 15 meters.
The firm has also offered customers free cloud storage for their media files. The camera records 60fps at 1080p and it includes a 12MP Sony IMX117CQT sensor.
With a built-in microphone, the camera has the power needed to keep recording for two hours and a half, but if the Wi-Fi is on, the device will only be operational for one hour.
The Air Pro 3 Wi-Fi weights 142g and has an eight points g-sensor stabilisation to fight blurry pictures.
6. Sony's AZ1VR Action Cam Mini
Cost: £279
Sony has put into the market a 63g camera that offers a SteadyShot electronic image stabilisation solution to put an end to blurry pictures.
The camera has 11.9MP, a resolution of 1920x1080 and a built in 170 degrees wide angle Zeiss Tessar lens to get more into the picture than just what is in front of the camera.
Users can also record in slow motion and take pictures at a rate of 120 frames per second (fps) at HD resolution. The camera includes a stereo microphone and speakers so adventure seekers can listen to their recordings on the go.
A GPS system keeps track of the user's movements and GPS Data Overlay calculates how fast consumers are dislocating and also generating another video file that displays their route and speed, according to Sony.
7. Panasonic HX-A100
Cost: £299
The 117g Panasonic HX-A100 wearable camera is waterproof up to 1.5 meters and offers a resolution of 1920x1080p.
The camera allows users to live broadcast and automatically compensates for tilt and stabilises video. The device connects to any Android or iOS phone through Panasonic's Image App.
With 2.8 million pixels, the device does not have any built in storage capability but users can place a microSD card into the HX-A100.
With a weight of 167g, the wearable also has a microphone and small speakers built-in.
8. HTC RE
Cost: £139
The 16MP camera includes 146 degrees lens, weights 66.5g and offers HD 1080p recording, with 30fps in the HD mode.
HTC's solution includes RE Live Stream technology that allows users to video stream directly on YouTube or remotely form the RE App available for Android and iOS phones.
The battery life lasts for one hour and a half on continuous HD video recording with time-lapse features and settings that can be control via smartphone.
9. Pivothead Kudu Video Glasses
Cost: £139
The Pivothead Kudu wearable camera is a hands-free video camera glasses solution. The gadget has a resolution of 1080p with an 8MP camera.
Users can single shot and build time-lapse videos with the 77 degree lens and 8 megapixel Sony CMOS Sensor (3264 x 2448 pixels).
The battery life last up to an hour and the internal storage of the device is 8GB. With a weight of 59g, the Kudu camera connects to a computer via USB.
10. Polaroid Cube+
Cost: £95
Polaroid's IoT wearable camera is one of the most simple in the market with users only able to record without having the ability to see what they are recording on the go.
The latest version of the camera, Cube+, tries to ease this by introducing Wi-Fi that communicates with the user's phone (either iOS or Android, and only via the Polaroid Cube+ app).
The camera records HD 1440p video with 8MP for still photos. It has an 124 degrees angle with Polaroid saying the solution is shockproof, splashproof and weatherproof.
A built-in microphone records sound and storage can be extended up to 128GB with a Micro SD card.
