With innovation at its core, Cytec Industries is a global specialty chemicals and materials company. They are leader in the development of enabling products, scientific knowledge, and technical expertise within a wide range of applications, from mining chemicals to solutions for paints and coatings and advanced composites and adhesives for aerospace. Ideas from all over the Cytec community are captured via a company wide intranet. Still, additional supporting process are required to make sure the value can be captured. Portfolio management is one of them. Effective collaboration and alignment between R&D and the other business functions is another critical part. To enable improved quality of ideas, an interactive innovation portal is used. Incoming new ideas and technical challenges are evaluated by technology and business people. At Cytec, innovative product development is vital to sustained growth and as a result, Cytec works on improving both the speed to market of products as well as on the value of product introductions to customers.
