Dan zult u mee gaan maken dat de warde op en neer gaat, maar geleidelijk (over meerdere jaren) omhoog als de munt ook echt een nuttige toepassing (meerwaarde) heeft.

Dat geld voor alle munten, ik heb met BTC winst gemaakt toen je BTC nog voor 80$ kon kopen stapte ik in. En ook met ETH en nu met XRP. Het is een kwestie van wanneer (tegen welke prijs) je in en of uit stapt. Ook zilver en goud markt gaat op en neer. En zeggen dat je met een grote boog om een munt of zilver of goud heen moet lopen is erg kortzichtig. Misschien is het juist een mooi moment om te kopen als de prijs laag is. Zo als u zelf al aangeeft in uw reactie...

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce says digital assets could one day be ‘the money of the internet’

At a cryptocurrency compliance summit in New York hosted by Solidus Labs today, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce spoke about the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) views on cryptocurrencies, how the U.S. can improve the process for new regulations, and how the SEC enforces cryptocurrency fraud.

Peirce states that she views digital assets as "transaction mechanisms" and that she believes store of value is an important function of these assets. "Store of value, I think, is a really important function. I do think that we’ll see as technology changes, that they become much more the money of the internet," Peirce said.

An Icelandic startup has been acquired by a billion-dollar blockchain giant
For its part, Ripple will use the deal to cement its presence in Northern Europe. It will take over Algrim’s HQ near Reykjavik, providing a halfway point between its US and London bases, and secure access to Iceland’s small but tech-savvy talent pool – beginning with Algrim’s 6 employees.

Iceland – which has just 340,000 inhabitants – has become something of a crypto mining “hub”, courtesy of its freezing climate and cheap geothermal power. Companies like EOS Iceland and Eldar “mine” digital currencies like Bitcoin, whereby large, specialised computers process the transactions on a given blockchain.

MoneyTap van Ripple live in Japan
De samenwerking tussen SBI Remit en Ripple is rond. MoneyTap is nu officieel live in Japan en wordt op dit moment al gebruikt voor internationale betalingen. Er is een nieuwe website voor MoneyTap ontwikkeld om alle mensen in Azië op de hoogte te houden van alle ontwikkelingen. MoneyTap maakt gebruik van de xCurrent software van Ripple, een gedeelte van de blockchainsoftware waar de munt van Ripple (XRP) niet voor nodig is.
De afgelopen dagen is echter in het nieuws gekomen dat verschillende betaalproviders gekozen hebben voor de alternatieve optie van Ripple. Deze optie maakt gebruik van de xRapid-software en deze software maakt wél gebruik van de XRP-munten die nodig zijn voor het verrichten en verifiëren van de transacties. Ongeacht hoe dit zich verder gaat ontwikkelen is het goed nieuws voor de community achter Ripple. Zij hebben vanaf dag één voorspeld dat Ripple hét alternatief zou worden voor de SEPA-betalingen en dat heeft het ditmaal opnieuw bewezen.

Gelukkig blijkt dit het geval. Samsung lijkt het meest vooruitstrevend. Eerder bleek zij al druk bezig met een cryptowallet en nu maakt zij bekend dat zij een partnerschap aangaat via Ripple (XRP) om Samsung Pay beter uit te rusten voor internationaal betalingsverkeer.
