Santander to invest €20 billion as it steps up global digital banking push
Santander recently acquired the rest of Brazilian payments firm GETNET, and Botín said Santander planned to expand the business internationally and was already working on taking it to Mexico.

The final plank of its digital strategy will be to expand its international payments business, Santander One Pay FX, to noncustomers through an application called Pago FX, which the group hopes to launch in the U.K. in September. It will also target the German and Polish markets for individuals and SMEs in the near future.

Ripple, Coinbase Invest in Mexico’s Biggest Crypto Exchange Bitso
An early partner of Bitso, Ripple has led the new investment round to support the first cryptocurrency exchange in Mexico, the company officially announced on Oct. 14.

As reported by crypto publication The Block, the new investment round also involves major investors including United States-based crypto exchange and wallet provider Coinbase, Jump Capital as well as existing investors such as Digital Currency Group and Pantera Capital. The amount of investment has not been disclosed.

Coinfield to open up 30,000 stocks for crypto trading on Ripple's XRPL
The exchange’s groundbreaking plans merge traditional financial markets and stablecoins, says its CEO Bob Ras.
The project has been six months in development, and Coinfield’s partners include top securities legal firms, Wietse Wind, the founder of XRPL Labs and online banking firm Cashaa.
Tesla shares, for example, would be converted to a tokenized stablecoin version of TSLA, TSLA?. And USD would become USD?.

Ripple investeert in start-up voor hardware wallet
Xpring is hard op weg om via verschillende kanalen de adoptie voor Ripple’s XRP steeds meer te vergroten. Eerder in oktober liet Xpring al weten om te investeren in cryptocurrency wallet BRD om gebruikers in staat te stellen om XRP te bewaren, aan te kopen, te verkopen en uit te geven, via de wallet.

De huidige berichtgeving doet vermoeden dat Ripple bezig is om een fundament te leggen om nieuwe diensten zoals bankieren, leningen en peer-to-peer-transacties mogelijk te maken, zonder de noodzaak van tussenpartijen.

Begin deze maand werd ook bekend gemaakt dat betalingsverwerkinggigant BitPay een samenwerking met Xpring is aangegaan om support te leveren voor Ripples XRP. Xpring zei dat wereldwijd bedrijven nu in staat zijn om betalingen met XRP te accepteren via BitPay, zonder dat hiervoor aanpassingen of complexe integraties benodigd zijn.

Dat de liquiditeit van XRP flink stijgt is een goed teken. En als grote Amerikaanse en Mexicaanse banken merken dat er veel gebruik gemaakt wordt van XRP, dan is de kans groot dat er spoedig nog veel meer grote banken zich aansluiten bij het RippleNet.
