Ripple has expanded, opening offices in Washington, DC – the first major blockchain company with a dedicated global regulatory team in the US capitol. But this doesn’t come alone: Ripple is joining the Blockchain Association with Michelle Bond, Ripple’s Global Head of Government Relations, seated at the board, and even further, Craig Phillips, former Counselor to the Secretary at the U.S. Treasury Department, has joined Ripple’s Board of Directors.

Libra has been hurt by Facebook’s “deficit of trust,” Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Ethereum Co-Founder Joe Lubin charged Wednesday.

Lubin called Facebook “a weapon of mass societal manipulation.”

“What Libra and Facebook got wrong is the foundation of any financial services is trust. (Mark) Zuckerberg admitted Facebook has a deficit of trust, particularly with governments, the Ripple chief claimed.

Japanse Money Tap en PayPay gaan samenwerking aan, gaan Ripple’s XRP Legder gebruiken voor transacties

Het systeem van PayPay wordt naar verluidt gebruikt door 10 miljoen Japanners en zo’n 1 miljoen ondernemers zouden betalingen via het systeem accepteren. SBI Group, waaronder Money Tap valt, maakte het nieuws op 30 oktober bekend in een aankondiging.

Money Tap werd ontwikkeld door SBI Group en is bovenop de XRP Ledger gebouwd. De app maakt gebruikt van het xCurrent-product van Ripple, wat vele malen sneller is dan bijvoorbeeld het SWIFT-netwerk. Hierdoor wordt er bij overboekingen gebruik gemaakt van de cryptocurrency van de XRP Ledger, XRP genaamd. XRP accounts for more than 50% of all crypto transactions in the last 24 hours
The last time XRP’s daily transactions were this high, the crypto markets were reveling in the middle of the famous bull run of December 2017.

On Oct. 21, XRP was processing around 730,000 daily transactions, while only eight days later, the third-most-popular crypto coin was recording 1.6 million daily transactions. This constitutes an increase of more than 100% in less than a week. Since then XRP has been eyeing a new all-time-high in daily transactions.

It is unclear what is causing the boost in daily transactions, but it is almost certain that speculation is about to run wild.

Ripple’s Xpring investeert in smart contract platform
“Wereld gaat open voor Ripples ecosysteem”

In een bericht op hun eigen website laat Flare Networks weten dat het een partnership met en investering vanuit Xpring heeft weten te bezegelen. Zij stellen dat de investering vanuit Xpring ervoor zal zorgen dat er een wereld van mogelijkheden opengaat voor zowel Flare Networks als Ripple en het XRP ecosysteem.

Het bedrijf Flare Network, wat twee jaar geleden is opgericht, integreert een Ethereum Virtual Machine om publieke en private netwerken aan te sluiten op smart contracts.

Flare zal binnenkort een draft whitepaper opstellen waarin de details verder uitgewerkt worden. Het idee voor nu is dat er er een eigen stablecoin op de markt zal komen die via een algoritme zal worden gecoördineerd. De whitepaper zal inzicht verschaffen in de constructie en het gedecentraliseerde management van de coin. Het platform zal gebruik maken van XRP en betalingen voor een smart contract kunnen worden uitgevoerd en ontvangen met de crypto van Ripple zelf.
