    In the latest trading session, Barrick Gold (GOLD) closed at $17.04, marking a -0.81% move from the previous day. This change was narrower than the S&P 500's 0.95% loss on the day. Elsewhere, the Dow lost 0.99%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 1.36%.

    Shares of the gold and copper mining company have appreciated by 8.46% over the course of the past month, outperforming the Basic Materials sector's gain of 7.84% and the S&P 500's gain of 1.86%.

    Dit komt doordat de Loulo-Gounkoto gold mine in Mali op nul
    ounces is gesteld omdat de productie stilgelegd is .

    Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:GOLD)(TSX:ABX)
    delivered a strong performance in Q4, increasing gold
    production by 15% and copper production by 33% over
    Q3 to meet its annual guidance for the year. Additionally,
    gold cost of sales1
    and total cash costs2
    for the quarter
    were reduced by 3% and 5%, respectively.
    The results for the year, released today, report a
    69% increase in net earnings to $2.14 billion, a 51%
    increase in adjusted net earnings3
    to $2.21 billion and
    a 30% rise in attributable EBITDA4
    to $5.19 billion for
    2024 — the highest in over a decade. Year-on-year
    operating cash flow increased 20% to $4.49 billion
    and free cash flow5
    more than doubled to $1.32 billion,
    driven by the stronger earnings. A quarterly dividend
    of $0.10 per share was maintained, bringing the total
    annual dividend paid to shareholders to $696 million,
    and a further $498 million was returned in buying back
    shares.
    “Barrick remains focused on sustainable value creation
    for all our stakeholders and as our results today clearly
    demonstrate, we have the asset quality, balance sheet
    strength and organic growth projects to deliver on our
    vision well into the future,” said Barrick president and

    Als de goudprijs niet spectaculair gaat zakken dan gaat komend kwartaal nog beter zijn, zowel goudprijs als koperprijs zijn hoger.

    Blijkbaar reageert niemand op het feit dat zolang er in Mali geen oplossing komt je nu al 1 1/2 maand 14% minder goudproductie hebt.

    De CEO Mark Bristow van BG haalt nu al de goudreserves van Reko Diq in Pakistan naar voren.
    Maar daar gaat de goudproductie pas in 2029 van start. Hij doet nu net al dat ze nu al tot de goudvoorraden van BG behoren.

    Hij zet ook erg in op de verhoging van de koperproductie in de Lumwana mijn.

    Maar had beter eens de aandeelhouders een extra dividend kunnen geven dan de $0,10 per kwartaal nu al jaren
    En het terugkopen van eigen aandelen van $1 miljard gebeurt ook al ieder jaar. Dat had hij ook wel eens mogen verhogen.

    Ideaal voor wat long acties via de turbo´s plus wat lange termijn aandelen aanwas.

    Ik ben bezig met calls schrijven. Zoals we vaak gezien hebben de afgelopen jaren is Barrick een eigenzinnig aandeel. De mooie 6% sprong deed ons heel erg goed. Ik ben erg op mijn hoede gezien mijn ervaring met Barrick.
    Mocht de goudprijs bv even terugvallen naar 2650/2750(wat echt niet ondenkbaar is) dan kan Barrick zomaar weer terug zijn op 15.50/16.00

    Het is zeker goed om calls te schrijven bij Barrick Gold.
    Naast dat het conflict met de junta van Mali nog niet opgelost is, is er ook in Congo een rebellen groep M23 gesteund door Rwanda die daar in het zuid-oosten oprukt.
    De goudmijn van BG ligt in het noord-oosten.
    Maar houdt het Congolese leger wel stand zonder hulp van Amerika.
    BG verzekerde wel dat de Congolese regering in Kinshasa verklaarde dat er geen gevaar bestaat voor de Kibali goudmijn.
    Maar de rebellen en ook Rwanda zijn uit op waardevolle metalen.

    Oeganda is erop uit om het Noord-Oosten van Congo binnen te vallen en in te nemen.
    Dan is de Kibali goudmijn van Barrick Gold natuurlijk een belangrijke trofee.
    Bestuurders van BG maken zich onterecht geen zorgen
