Russia’s Bolshoi Theatre is canceling the performances directed by two directors who have spoken out against Russian’s invasion of Ukraine.

On Sunday, Russia’s top theatre announced that it would replace three performances of Nureev, a ballet directed by Kirill Serebrennikov with a production of Aram Khachaturian’s ballet, Spartacus.

Instead of Don Pasquale, a comic opera by Gaetano Donizetti. Directed by Timofey Kulyabin, audiences will see a production of Gioachino Rossini’s The Barber of Seville this week.

The Bolshoi did not give reasons for the cancellations.

Kulyabin has used his Instagram account to express solidarity with Ukraine and ridicule Russia’s description of its actions there. In one post, he showed a mocked-up version of the cover of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace, replacing the first word of the title with Special Operation - the term used by the Kremlin to describe the invasion.

Serebrennikov told France 24 in an interview last month that “it’s quite obvious that Russia started the war”, and that it was breaking his heart.

“It’s war, it’s killing people, it’s the worst thing (that) ever might happen with civilisation, with mankind... It’s a humanitarian catastrophe, it’s rivers of blood,” he said.

Both directors are currently outside Russia.

Er kan natuurlijk altijd wel eens brand ontstaan
Wel opmerkelijk dat er ook faciliteiten bijzitten die cruciaal zijn voor de Russische oorlog in Oekraine

Eerder al een laboratorium/productie faciliteit voor ontwikkeling en productie van aandrijfgassen voor raketten
Cruciaal voor de lange afstandsraketten ( met nucleair materiaal richting de US en europa )

En dan nu en faciliteit die onder meer Grad raketten maakt

The absurdity of the Russian Army??In occupied #Ukraine, the Russian soldiers buried the leg of their commander Col. Nikolai Ovcharenko. The blast has torn him apart. The Colonel's leg was found after his body parts were sent to his family in Russia. Now, this Col. has 2 graves.

Het gaat nogal hard op oryx. De 3333 is al bereikt. Het verhaal ging dat Poetin op 9 mei zijn overwinningsparade wil houden. Als er geen hele grote wonderen gebeuren komende week, zal hij de overwinning moeten liegen. Of hij moet willen vieren dat de downsizing van het Russische leger met succes is afgerond.

Misselijk makend figuur trouwens die Lavrov.

Er speelt ook de suggestie dat dit door het US leger gedaan zou kunnen zijn middels hacken van het computer systeem

Het zou dan om een minuscuul nauwelijks detecteerbaar virus gaan, dat het computersysteem kan overnemen en men noemt dit het Stuxnet virus
Die zou dan het productie proces dat computer aangestuurd is zodanig aansturen dat er brandbare situaties ontstaan

Maar jouw conclusie dat het sabotage van Russische werknemers of Russen, is zeer zeker een grote mogelijkheid

Er is zelfs afgelopen dagen een brand geweest op het eiland Sachalin, ten Oosten van Siberië op 9.000 km afstand van Oekraïne

Sabotage van binnenuit zou mooi zijn, toch vlak ik niet uit dat de Oekraïne ook acties ver over de grens kan uitvoeren d.m.v. kleine groepen sabotage-experts (spionnen zo gezegd).
Er is niet veel nodig om een brandstof-depot in lichterlaaie te zetten, zelfde geldt voor een munitie opslag/ of kruitfabriek.
Des te verder over de grens, des te slechter de beveiliging ook zal zijn. Al zal die nu wel worden opgeschroefd.

Donbas 2: Russia is preparing an attack on Moldova by May 9

Het is opvallend hoe nu aan het licht komt wie er wel iets voorstelt en wie niet.

Macron mag altijd graag de Grote Staatsman uithangen, maar is nu nergens te bekennen. Hij heeft een poging gedaan, maar lijkt gewoon te worden genegeerd. Je krijgt niet de indruk dat hij erg serieus genomen wordt.

Olaf Scholz is precies de nikserige figuur die hij leek en die alleen kanselier is omdat het CDU met een nóg nikseriger figuur aan kwam zetten. Hij is in principe de natuurlijke leider van Europa maar moet door zijn bondgenoten vooruit worden geschopt. Als er een positief geluid uit Duitsland komt, is het een minister, nooit de kanselier. Die is onzichtbaar of roept iets nikszeggends, of precies het verkeerde.

Von der Leyen daarentegen is erg sterk bezig. Meteen al sterke sancties. Het kan en moet natuurlijk altijd meer, maar er is al meer werkelijkheid geworden dan ik had durven dromen. En zeker meer dan bij die vorige acties van Poetin. Deze keer komt hij er niet gemakkelijk vanaf. Als er onderlinge ruzies zijn, houdt ze die intern. En het beste van alles: de EU houdt zich bij zijn competentie en gaat niet proberen zich overal mee te bemoeien en de NAVO voor de voeten te lopen. Ik ben niet de grootste EU fan, maar nu laat de EU zich van zijn beste kant zien.

Ik ben ook positief over Boris Johnson. Resoluut beleid. Gaat niet even wraak nemen op Brussel, maar werkt goed samen met zowel de EU als de Amerikanen. De Britten zijn zichtbaarder dan de Duitsers en de Fransen bij elkaar.

En Joe Biden natuurlijk. Ik had geen hoge verwachtingen toen hij werd gekozen, maar hij is een verbazend effectieve president. Hij wijkt soms van zijn script af en dan raken de diplomatieke pipo's weer in paniek, maar hij heeft iedere keer gewoon gelijk. De diplomatieke pipo's zijn gewoon te bang. Biden niet. Hij staat pal voor Oekraïne en sleept de rest mee. Goed bezig.
