HOUSTON — A seaman who worked aboard a Fugro USA vessel and was injured is claiming the boat was undermanned and unseaworthy.
David Strange filed a complaint Feb. 14 in the Harris County District Court against Fugro Geoservices Inc., Fugro (USA) Holdings Inc., and Fugro (USA) Marine Inc., alleging negligence.
Strange, who was employed by the defendants, was working on the Fugro Explorer as a Jones Act seaman and held the position of roughneck. He alleges that on Dec. 29, 2019 he fell and suffered injuries to his head, shoulder, neck and other areas. Strange alleges in his complaint that the vessel was undermanned, under-crewed and unseaworthy, which contributed to his injuries.
Strange seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Kurt Arnold, J. Kyle Findley, Kala Sellers and Adam Lewis of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
