De AEX stond bijna weer jaar high, maar voor de zoveelste keer verknallen de importheffingen van Trump het feestje. Arcelor hoog en laag vandaag verschilt een euro en 10 cent nu. Ook i.v.m. expiratie zag ik wel een lagere koers, maar zo laag had ik niet verwacht.

ArcelorMittal NA receives top honors from automakers

ArcelorMittal was recently recognized by three key automakers – Honda, General Motors and Ford Motor Company - for excellence in developing and providing steel products and solutions for their vehicle brands. Honda R&D Americas Inc. awarded ArcelorMittal with its Excellence in Innovation Award. General Motors awarded ArcelorMittal's AM/NS Calvert with its Supplier Quality Award and ArcelorMittal with its Supplier Diversity Award, while Ford announced that ArcelorMittal ranked #1 amongst its five main suppliers for the seventh consecutive year.

Honda's Excellence in Innovation Award
ArcelorMittal became the first steel company to receive Honda R&D Americas Inc.’s Excellence in Innovation Award. The award, which honors suppliers that achieve truly innovative results through breakthrough ideas, was presented to ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks (AMTB) at the 34th annual Honda Supplier Conference in Toronto. Honda recognized ArcelorMittal for its co-engineering efforts that led to the world’s first inner and outer door ring system for the 2019 Acura RDX, unveiled at WCX 18 in Detroit in April. Through co-engineering, the partners developed the first outer and inner door ring system, comprised of different grades of ArcelorMittal’s patented press hardenable steel, Usibor® 1500. After the various Usibor® steels are blanked, they are shipped to ArcelorMittal’s newest tailored blanks facility in Detroit where the enabling technology, called laser ablation, takes place. Once ablated, the steels are welded together, with multiple quality control processes to ensure precision. The blanks are then sent to a hot-stamper to be stamped into the final part.

General Motors Supplier Quality Award
AM/NS Calvert, ArcelorMittal's joint venture with Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metals Corporation, received the General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award for the 2017 calendar year. This marks the sixth year for this prestigious recognition, given to specific manufacturing locations that meet or exceed a very stringent set of quality performance criteria and have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organization. Only top performing supplier manufacturing sites are eligible. This year's award was even more challenging as GM continues to launch many new and exciting products.

General Motors Supplier IMPACT Diamond Award
ArcelorMittal was the only company to receive General Motors' 2018 Supplier IMPACT Diamond Award at the automaker’s annual IMPACT Awards meeting held at Detroit’s COBO Center in May. This award marks ArcelorMittal's fourth consecutive year to receive a GM Supplier Diversity Award. The Supplier Diversity Awards recognize the top 50 suppliers who have excelled in Tier 2 diversity procurement activity. The Diamond distinction is awarded to suppliers who have excelled in three additional areas beyond the top 50 contract value.

Ford Supplier Award
To further illustrate ArcelorMittal’s commitment to maintaining its position as the leading steel supplier to auto, the company received Ford’s highest ranking as part of the automaker’s annual Suppliers Performance Review (SPR). To receive such a rating from a major customer for seven consecutive years, or 28 quarters, is quite an achievement. Ford rates ArcelorMittal based on its North American business which includes seven ArcelorMittal facilities: Burns Harbor, Indiana Harbor, I/N Tek and I/N Kote (Indiana); Cleveland; AM/NS Calvert (Alabama); and Dofasco (Ontario). ArcelorMittal’s performance is compared and ranked against other major flat rolled steelmakers and aluminum suppliers on several categories that are critical to Ford’s business success. ArcelorMittal finished #1 in six of the eight categories. ArcelorMittal provides a variety of steel grades for every Ford vehicle. ArcelorMittal steel is used in all aspects of Ford’s cars, SUV’s, and trucks, including both exposed and unexposed applications.

Reflecting on these four recent honors, ArcelorMittal North America CEO Brad Davey said: "These awards clearly emphasize the success we are having in supporting our customers in all aspects of their businesses. The Honda award is a testament to our excellent design support. The prestigious GM awards illustrate our commitment to both superior quality and supplier diversity. The Ford award shows our success across all levels and departments of our North American business. I am very proud that the great efforts of our teams are being recognized and rewarded from these great customers."

ArcelorMittal Spain steel mill offline due to flood
Steel News - Published on Fri, 15 Jun 2018

Platts reported that the steel mill at ArcelorMittal's 5 million tonne per year Asturias complex in Spain is currently offline following a flood earlier this week, with no date set for a restart. The steel mill at Aviles was halted on Jun 11 following a flood of the nearby Llongas river caused by heavy rainfall.

The spokesman said that "As yet, we have no restart date for production in the Aviles steel mill. The other installations at Aviles are functioning normally right now."

The spokesman said that the nearby Gijon plant was not affected by the rainfall, but production was altered due to the Aviles outage. He added that "At the moment Furnace A is halted but we expect this to be restarted tomorrow (Thursday) morning. We will then process to halt Furnace B (during the night) and the two furnaces will alternate halts all the while the steel mill at Aviles remains offline."

ArcelorMittal's operations in the northern region of Asturias consist of two plants with integrated production, at Aviles and Gijon, both of them in close proximity to their respective ports on the Atlantic coast.

The complex is the only facility in Spain that can produce steel from mineral iron.

The plant at Aviles specializes in flat products.

Volgende week weer wat herstel, maar voorlopig gaan we niet verlost worden van gedoe. Dat beurzen snel reageren is wellicht goed. Trump lijkt me redelijk vatbaar voor deze fluctuaties op de beurs.

In de enorme eindveiling (elders ook) van 2,504,030 stuks, werd de koers 13 cent naar beneden gezet!!!

Een beetje een gok. Heb in het laatste half uur 75% aandelen AM teruggekocht voor 28,05. (woensdag voor 28,75 verkocht)

P.S. wat een drama vandaag met mijn aandelen: Aperam, Aegon, SBM en Fugro.

Beursupdate: AEX op Wall Street

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Op Wall Street zijn vrijdag zes van de negen AEX-genoteerde fondsen ten opzichte van het slot in Amsterdam hoger gesloten. Aegon was met een verlies van 0,7 procent de sterkste daler, terwijl Philips en ASML de sterkste stijgers waren met beide een winst van 0,5 procent.

Goede morgen. Nieuwe week, nieuwe kansen. Vandaag opening onder de 28. De effecten van Trumps beleid spelen ons weer parten. De escalatie van het handelsconflict tussen de Verenigde Staten en China blijft de beurzen in de greep houden.De Aex sloot vrijdag op het laagste niveau van de dag en kan daarmee vandaag dus mogelijk nog een lagere bodem gaan neerzetten. We gaan gewoon mee en zien hoe het verloopt. Succes allemaal.

Heb porto AM met ca 60% terug gebracht. Andere longpos met ca. 30%.
We krijgen m.i. nu een lastige periode waarin niet alleen een handelsoorlog eventueel ettert, maar ook een rentepuist kan ontstaan. Tesamen met het hoge koersniveau i.h.a. doe ik gewoon stapje terug.

Met AM fundamenteel heeft het weinig te maken, AM staat m.i. echt ondergewaardeerd. Daar koop ik helaas niets voor als de beuurs in geheel gaat zakken. AM heeft de neiging wat harder mee te gaan...
Zie zelf nog niet snel een ommekeer ontstaan in een mogelijke handelsoorlog, althans de dreigimg ervan, Trump zal niet gelijk toegeven.

Trump kennende zal hij eerst de boel laten escaleren , ik heb helaas vrijdag nog een pakket AM aangekocht ,AM komt zeker wel op zijn pootjes terecht ,maar het zal wel nog even duren

Eens! hier ook 80% verkocht afgelopen 2 weken. Met de 20% overgebleven stukjes nu 2,5 euro in de min. Nu langzaam kijken wanneer we weer wat gaan opbouwen of misschien zelfs nog wel even short gaan.
