Petobras raised to 32 from 23 the number of companies prevented from participating in tenders and gaining new contracts from the state-controlled oil giant. Companies included on the list are as follows: Sanko Sider, Empresa Industrial Técnica (EIT), NM Engenharia e Construções and Niplan Engenharia. The list also included companies of groups that were already on a precautionary ban, two of Odebrecht and one of OAS, Iesa and Queiroz Galvão. As for the latter, its construction arm in charge of supplying oil rigs and vessels, Queiroz Galvão Ã"leo e Gás, may leave the list soon, says João Elek, Petrobras governance, risk and compliance director, since the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) found no evidence to justify banning the unit.
