Grote Prospectieve Longkanker Studie die wordt voorgesteld op het ESMO Congres toont aan dat Idylla™ de doorlooptijd van EGFR mutatie-testen met meer dan één week vermindert, hetgeen snellere beslissingen omtrent patiëntenbeheer toelaat
Mechelen, België, 14 september 2020 – Biocartis Group NV (de ‘Vennootschap’ of ‘Biocartis’), een innovatief bedrijf in de moleculaire diagnostiek (Euronext Brussels: BCART), kondigt vandaag aan dat een grote, prospectieve longkanker studie1, met steun van Astra Zeneca, een wetenschapsgedreven biofarmaceutisch bedrijf dat wereldwijd actief is (LON: AZN), werd geselecteerd om te worden voorgesteld op het gerenommeerde virtueel Congres van de European Society for Medical Oncology (‘ESMO’) dat plaatsvindt tussen 19 en 21 september 2020. Het snel en nauwkeurig testen van de EGFR mutatie is essentieel voor het nemen van geïnformeerde beslissingen m.b.t. de behandeling2 van patiënten met ver gevorderde niet-kleincellige longkanker, en de studie toont aan dat Idylla™ de doorlooptijd met méér dan een week vermindert t.o.v. referentiemethodes, waardoor snellere beslissingen omtrent het beheer van deze patiënten mogelijk worden.
De ‘FACILITATE’ studie is een grote, prospectieve studie op basis van reële data in 16 Europese centra3 die werd gelanceerd als onderdeel van de overeenkomst tussen Biocartis and AstraZeneca4, met als doel snellere moleculaire biomarker testresultaten te bekomen voor longkanker in Europa. Tussen januari 2019 en juli 2020 werden 1.370 stalen afkomstig van patiënten met ver gevorderde niet-kleincellige longkanker gestest met de Idylla™ EGFR Mutation test5 (CE-IVD) en met lokale referentiemethodes6, waaronder gerichte next-generation sequencing (‘NGS’). Resultaten toonden 97,6%7 overeenkomst tussen Idylla™ en de referentiemethodes. 90% van alle stalen werden in minder dan 7 dagen getest met de Idylla™ technologie, t.o.v. minder dan 21 dagen met de referentiemethodes. Dit toont aan dat Idylla™ de doorlooptijd verbetert, hetgeen, waar vereist, versneld testen mogelijk maakt, als aanvulling op bestaande tragere laboratorium processen en sytemen.

In onze grote studie op reële data werd het zeer duidelijk dat het Idylla™ platform in staat is om bijzonder snel en nauwgezet beslisingen omtrent de behandeling te ondersteunen, véél sneller dan de toegepaste eigen interne oplossingen.”
