AG Bill Barr in een toespraak kort na de herdenking van D Day.

Hij kijkt terug op zijn terugkeer op het Justice Department. Het Congress heeft voor zijn aanstelling een hearing gehouden en Barr vond dat hij het er zwaar mee had. Zo zwaar dat hij tot deze uitspraak kwam :

Mijn terugkeer bij het Departement van Justitie is te vergelijken met hoe toentertijd op 5 Juni de parachutisten in het dorpje Sainte Mere-Eglise landden. Zij moesten uitvinden tijdens hun sprong om op een goede plek te landen waar zij niet beschoten konden worden.

De aanstellingsprocedure vergelijken met wat deze parachutisten in 1944 hebben gedaan.
Deze man beseft niet wat hij zegt.

Werkt voor een hulp organisatie die migranten in de Sonora Woestijn van Arizona water en medische hulp geeft.
De afgelopen 2 decennia zijn ca 7000 migranten van honger en dorst overleden waarvan ca 2000 in de Sonora woestijn.

Rechtszaak is 29 Mei gestart en indien schuldig een gevangenis straf tot max 20 jaar.

een intentieverklaring van Obama, niet gelukt door heel veel tegenwerking binnen en buiten de VS, vergelijken met de constante leugenterreur van trump is net zoiets als beweren dat de trump fans hier altijd complete bullshit neerzetten en de rest altijd en overal gelijk heeft.

hoewel dat laatste heel wat dichter bij de realiteit zal komen...:)

Video van een aanhouding.
In de tweede video tweet(scrollen) legt de politie uit dat er een overval was. Er was sprake van wapengebruik.
Deze persoon voldeed aan de beschrijving. Deze persoon wordt meegenomen voor verhoor om te weten of hij betrokken was bij de overval. Indien onschuldig dan zal hij vrijgelaten worden.

Goldman Sachs :

Kosten import tarieven komen volledig ten laste van US bedrijven en consumenten.
Men verwachtte dat China de kosten van hun product zouden verlagen, waardoor ook China bij zou dragen in de kosten van de opgelegde import tarieven. Chinese producten zijn niet in prijs verlaagd.

Goldman berekent een 0,4% nadelige invloed op het BBP.

Witte Huis verbiedt medewerker een verklaring aan het House af te geven over Climate Change .

Rob Schoonover zou voor het House Intelligence Committee verschijnen voor een gebruikelijke update.

Hij wilde wijzen op de gevaren van Climate Change voor de US Nationale Veiligheid.

Hij mag wel verschijnen maar het Witte Huis verbiedt hem een vooraf geprepareerde schriftelijke verklaring af te geven.

In deze brief staat onder andere :

"Climate change will have wide-ranging implications for US National Security over the next 20 years , through global perturbations (verstoringen), increased risk of political instability, heightened tensions between countries for resources, a growing number of climate-linked humanitarian crisis, emergent geostrategic competitive domains and adverse effects on militaries"

De brief eindigde met :
"absent extensive mitigating (verzachtende) factors or events, we see few plausible future scenarios where significant - possibly catastrophic- effects of climate change."

The Transportation Department under Secretary Elaine Chao designated a special liaison to help with grant applications and other priorities from her husband Mitch McConnell’s state of Kentucky, paving the way for grants totaling at least $78 million for favored projects as McConnell prepared to campaign for reelection.

Chao’s aide Todd Inman, who stated in an email to McConnell’s Senate office that Chao had personally asked him to serve as an intermediary, helped advise the senator and local Kentucky officials on grants with special significance for McConnell — including a highway-improvement project in a McConnell political stronghold that had been twice rejected for previous grant applications.

Department of Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao attempted to schedule meetings between members of her family's shipping business and Chinese government officials during a planned trip to China that was ultimately cancelled amid ethics concerns.

According to an investigation by The New York Times, Chao requested in October 2017 that federal officials make travel arrangements for at least one of her relatives to China. She also asked for her family members to be included in meetings with government officials.

David Rank, an official in the State Department, told the Times that Chao's request was "alarmingly inappropriate." Rank was previously the acting U.S. ambassador to China but resigned in 2017 after President Donald Trump decided to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

Another department official, who remained anonymous, told the newspaper that Chao's family and their business interests were "potentially affected by meetings.

Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao reportedly still owns stock in a construction company that she previously promised to divest from upon taking office.

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that federal disclosure forms show Chao to be the owner of nearly $400,000 worth of stock in Vulcan Materials Co., a major supplier of materials for road pavement and other construction projects, more than a year after she promised to trade the shares for a cash payout.

The cash payout has yet to occur, the Journal reported. A spokesman for the Department of Transportation (DOT) told the newspaper that the language of an ethics agreement signed in 2017 stating that the exchange would occur in April of 2018 “is being clarified to avoid confusion.”

Walter Shaub, a former director of the Office of Government Ethics, told the newspaper that he believes Chao's failure to divest from her holdings in the company sent a message to other DOT staffers that ethics were not a major priority at the agency.

“If you look at her ethics agreement, it provides for a complete disentanglement of her interest from Vulcan Materials, and that’s what was represented to the Senate,” he reportedly said. “For the head of the DOT to have a financial interest in an asphalt company, that is not sending a message to employees of DOT that she is making ethics a priority.”

a group of black and Hispanic teenagers who were convicted (and later exonerated) in connection with the 1989 rape of jogger Trisha Meili, a 28-year-old white investment banker.

At the time of the brutal assault, Trump was a high-powered New York real-estate mogul adamant about cracking down on crime. Although no DNA evidence connected the boys, aged 14 to 16, to the attack, that didn't stop Trump from spending $85,000 on full-page ads in four city newspapers, calling for their executions.

"BRING BACK THE DEATH PENALTY. BRING BACK OUR POLICE,” read the alarming ads, which Trump accompanied with a first-person article. "I want to hate these murderers and I always will. I am not looking to psychoanalyze or understand them, I am looking to punish them."

Trump took out a full-page advertisement calling for the execution of the Central Park Five.

They were later exonerated by DNA evidence, although President Trump maintains that they are guilty.

The boys – Raymond Santana, Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam and Korey Wise – were cleared as adults in 2002 after convicted murder Matias Reyes confessed to raping Meili, which was confirmed by DNA evidence. The city awarded the men $41 million in 2014 but Trump continued to insist they were guilty, and called the settlement "a disgrace" in an op-ed for the New York Daily News.
