White House cafeterias close after staffer diagnosed with COVID-19

The White House emailed the full staff that the cafeterias in the buildings will be closed after a staffer tested positive for COVID-19.

According to CNN’s Kaitlin Collins, that the email the staff received said that there was “no reason for panic or alarm,” but that the cafeterias in the White House, the Executive Office Building, and the New Executive Office Building would be closed.

No contract tracing has been done with staff who may have eaten in the cafeterias.

This is not to be confused with the White House dining room, where a president and their family typically eats.

Trump Campaign Ad Uses Ukraine Photo In Depicting U.S. Street 'Chaos'

A campaign ad for U.S. President Donald Trump that aims to promote him as a guarantor of public safety features a photo of pro-democracy protesters in Ukraine battling with police during the 2014 Maidan events.

The ad, which appeared on the president’s official Facebook page, consists of two images: one showing Trump standing alongside law enforcement officials on the left side and citizens in helmets fighting with police on the other side.

The caption below the photos reads “Public Safety vs Chaos & Violence.”

However, the violence depicted in the Trump ad shows pro-democracy protesters fighting police in Ukraine in 2014 and not the recent U.S. protests.

The ad has since gone viral among Trump critics. The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to media inquiries about the ad.

The United States backed the Ukrainian protesters, who took to the streets after then-President Viktor Yanukovych agreed to closer ties with Russia, angering those citizens who wanted Ukraine to eventually join the European Union.

The protesters, some of whom stood for weeks in the freezing cold and faced police brutality, were admired around the world.

je kunt je ook afvragen of het een goed idee is om rellen die tijdens het trump bewind opvlamden moet gebruiken om aan te tonen dat je nog 4 jaar door moet gaan omdat je van Recht en Ordnung houdt.

Maar ja, het trump kamp vindt het ook een goed idee om een soort van Stasi op te roepen om, in camouflagepak en anoniem in steden mensen op te pakken voordat ze een overtreding hebben gepleegd, ze in een bestelbus te gooien en af te voeren.

Na het interview met Chris Wallace over zijn 'test' nog maar een keer, een tweede interview, waarin hij claimt getest te zijn op zijn 'cognitive ability' Hij is de naam van de test vergeten. Hij is ook de woordjes die hij moest onthouden vergeten, en verzint dus een eigen rijtje.
En hij kreeg bonuspunten, die niemand krijgt! Amazing!

Het is te hopen dat het Congres na de verkiezingen constituele wijzigingen doorvoert om de macht van de president in te perken. Maar zolang 40% alles goedkeurt wat Trump doet, lijkt dat onhaalbaar.

Echt he, dit is wel grappig zo'n man. Maar eigenlijk is het treurig dat het kan en dat hij zoveel fans heeft. Het commentaar op zijn test is toch van nul niveau.
Stel je nu eens voor dat Merkel of Rutte of Macron zulke nonsens zouden verkondigen, daar zou een 2 e kamer toch vragen over stellen neem ik aan. Echt niet te geloven "ik deed een test en ik kon 5 zaken onthouden" Mensen waren verbaasd, dat geeft wel aan wat die mensen verwachtten. Deze man krijgt iedere dag echt complexe zaken voorgeschoteld, als hij zelf meent dat die test al vrij moeilijk was ..

Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said Wednesday that he was disappointed in President Donald Trump's "reality TV approach" of sending federal agents to US cities to quell protests.

"I'm not even sure they have a plan. Have they talked to the mayor? Have they talked to the chief of police? Have they talked to the US attorney? They'll leave in a couple of weeks and the lawlessness will reemerge, and they still haven't dealt with the social and economic conditions that underpin the lawlessness," Ridge told CNN's John Berman on "Anderson Cooper 360."
"It's a very disappointing response to a serious problem, but it's typical of somebody who thinks reality TV is real."
His comments come hours after Trump announced he will "surge" federal law enforcement officers to Chicago and other American cities, despite resistance from local leaders.

U.S. District Judge Michael Mosman heard arguments from the state and the U.S. government in a lawsuit filed by Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, who accuses federal agents of arresting protesters without probable cause, whisking them away in unmarked cars and using excessive force. Federal authorities have disputed those allegations.

President Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen was ordered released from prison on Thursday by a judge who found that the Bureau of Prisons retaliated against him by sending him back to prison after questioning a dubious gag order he was asked to sign.

U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein said Cohen must be released from an upstate federal prison by 2 p.m. Friday after being tested for coronavirus at the facility where he’s been held in a solitary setting since being rearrested July 9. He will then go into home confinement in Manhattan.

Vroeger deze week diende Michael Cohen een aanklacht in bij de federale rechtbank, met het argument dat Bill Barr hem alleen maar terug in de gevangenis gooide om te proberen hem te blokkeren van het vrijgeven van zijn allesomvattende boek over Donald Trump. Palmer Rapport wees erop dat Cohen een sterke kans had om te winnen, omdat Barr's DOJ dom genoeg was om Cohen te vragen een document te ondertekenen dat zegt dat hij uit de gevangenis kon blijven als hij het boek niet zou publiceren.

Nu blijkt dat de rechtbanken het eens zijn met onze analyse, want rechter Alvin Hellerstein heeft zojuist de onmiddellijke vrijlating van Michael Cohen uit de gevangenis bevolen; hij zal morgen worden vrijgelaten. Het is niet alleen dat Cohen weer een vrij man is. Hij heeft al getweet dat zijn boek in wezen klaar is, wat betekent dat het vrijgelaten zou worden, of hij nu in de gevangenis zat of niet. Het is dat Cohen nu een rechtszaak heeft die hij kan voortzetten, en een geweldige gave van vrije publiciteit.

Nu de rechtbanken hebben besloten dat Bill Barr's DOJ specifiek gericht was op Michael Cohen voor "vergelding", betekent dit dat Cohen de rotzooi uit Barr kan vervolgen en weg kan lopen met een enorme betaaldag. Het opent ook potentieel de deur voor extra criminele aanklachten tegen Barr nadat Trump weg is, als kan worden bewezen dat Barr zelf achter de vergelding zat. En het betekent dat Cohen zijn boek mag promoten terwijl hij praat over hoe Trump hem illegaal in de gevangenis probeerde te stoppen om de publicatie ervan te blokkeren.

Beschuldigingen tegen Alan Dershowitz Om te worden ontzegeld

Een verklaring tegen Alan Dershowitz door een van Jeffrey Epstein's vermeende slachtoffers zal vandaag op bevel van een rechter in New York worden ontgrendeld. Dershowitz heeft in Virginia Guiffre op de sociale media uitgehaald, met het argument dat ze over hem liegt.

Volgens Raw Story laat rechter Loretta Preska, de Senior United States District Judge van de United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, bepaalde documenten ontsluiten voorafgaand aan de zaak tegen Ghislain Maxwell. Maxwell wordt beschuldigd van het helpen van bruidegom en het verkrijgen van jonge meisjes voor Jeffrey Epstein om seksueel te worden misbruikt, en om andere rijke mannen te voorzien van seksueel misbruik. Ze staat voor de rechter in juli aanstaande.

Een van de slachtoffers in de zaak, Virginia Guiffre, heeft ook Alan Dershowitz beschuldigd. Zoals destijds gemeld door Local10, heeft Dershowitz haar destijds uitgedaagd om te zeggen dat ze niet te geloven is en haar een prostituee te noemen. Hij gaf ook toe dat hij een massage kreeg bij Epstein thuis, maar zegt dat het van een vrouw van legale volwassen leeftijd was. "Ik hield mijn ondergoed aan tijdens de massage. Ik hou niet van massages in het bijzonder."

Zoals destijds opgemerkt, werd "massage" door de jonge meisjes begrepen als Epsteins codewoord voor een seksuele ontmoeting.

Eerder deze maand zei Dershowitz dat hij hoopt dat er video's zijn van de minderjarige meisjes die worden misbruikt in Epstein's huis, wat suggereert dat hij zou worden vrijgesproken door alleen niet in dergelijke video's te verschijnen. Hij zei ook dat Guiffre de gevangenis in zou moeten gaan voor het verzinnen van valse beschuldigingen.
Het valselijk beschuldigen van onschuldige mensen is een ernstig misdrijf dat serieus moet worden onderzocht.

In de tijd dat Dershowitz Guiffre een "prostituee" noemt, was ze een vijftienjarige minderjarige, die zegt dat ze in haar eerste ontmoeting werd gedwongen tot seksuele activiteit met Jeffrey Epstein, en vervolgens 200 dollar kreeg. Ze zegt dat Maxwell en Epstein haar vervolgens 'trainden' voordat ze haar aan vrienden, waaronder Dershowitz en prins Andrew, overhandigde.

A new poll released Thursday found nearly two-thirds of voters in Florida think it's unsafe for Donald Trump to hold the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, Florida — delivering yet more bad news for the beleaguered event.

The Quinnipiac University poll found 62% of voters in the Sunshine State think it's unsafe to hold the convention in Jacksonville, including 26% of Republicans.
